Pro Stock Mini Z

Chassis:

  • 98mm or 102mm wheelbase only, Kyosho MR01, MR02, MR03, MR04, SR27, or PN 2.5 chassis

Wheelbase:

  • Only allowed wheelbases: 90mm, 94mm, 98mm, and 102mm

Motor:

  • Allowed Motor: Kyosho MZ9P, MZ9E Motor from RTR, PN 132370, or 3500KV Un-sensored Brushless Motor

Motor Modifications:

  • The motor may be modified only with manufacturer parts.

Permitted Modifications:

  • Changing motor wires with the same or maximum (20) gauge wire
  • Removing safety switch

Gear Ratio:

  • Open Spur, Open Pinion, Open Diff

Wheels:

  • All brand plastic and aluminum 1/28 scale production wheels allowed
  • Size limitations:
    • Maximum front-wheel width: 8.5mm
    • Maximum rear-wheel width: 14mm (not including outer flange/disk)
    • Maximum wheel diameter: 20mm
    • Minimum wheel diameter: 19mm
  • Wheels must be original designs made for 1/28 scale cars

  • An additional battery is allowed only for transponder connection

Electronics & Transmitter:

  • Any manufacturer remote is allowed
  • Only Kyosho ESC and Receiver in the same flat board configuration, blue or white antenna board may be used

Body:

  • Any manufactured molded hard shell or Lexan body that fits the allowed wheelbase

Option Parts:

  • Allowed from any manufacturer: All upgrades are open except Motor, Body, Batteries, and ESC board
  • Adding weight via tungsten putty, stick weight, or cut hobby brass is allowed

    National Class Rules – 1/10 offroad/onroad, 1/8th offroad

    At RC Madness, we adhere to the ROAR racing rules for national events. You can find the current ROAR rules at the following link: ROAR Rule Book. If you have any questions or need clarification, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Please note that certain rules may be relaxed or modified at the club race level.

    Box Stock TT02 Rules:

    1. Chassis: Only Tamiya TT02 chassis kits are allowed.
    2. Motor: Participants must use the stock motor included in the TT02 kit. No modifications or substitutions are permitted.
    3. Electronic Speed Controller (ESC): Only stock electronic speed controllers (ESC) from the TT02 kit are allowed. Modifications to the ESC are not permitted.
    4. Battery: Participants may use 7.4-volt LiPo battery packs or 7.2-volt NiMH battery packs with a maximum capacity of 5500mAh.
    5. Tires: Participants may use only SXT traction compound on tires. Gravity RC tires, as well as those provided in the TT02 kit, are permitted. No other tire additives or traction compounds are allowed.
    6. Body: Bodies must be Tamiya original TT02 bodies, with no modifications permitted other than minor trimming for wheel clearance.
    7. Suspension: Suspension components must be stock TT02 parts. Aftermarket upgrades or modifications are not allowed.
    8. Gearing: Gearing must be stock as provided in the TT02 kit. No aftermarket pinion gears or gear ratios are allowed.
    9. Bearings: Participants may use aftermarket bearing kits. Only stock plastic bushings or bearings provided in the TT02 kit are allowed otherwise.
    10. Optional Parts: Optional parts allowed include front CVD axles and bearing kits.
    11. Steering Servo: Any steering servo is allowed.
    12. Radio System: Participants may choose any radio system.
    13. Weight: Cars must meet the minimum weight requirement specified in the TT02 kit manual.
    14. Modifications: No modifications are allowed to any components, except as specifically noted in these rules.
    15. Race Format: Races will be conducted according to standard race formats, with heats and mains as determined by the race director.

    Miscellaneous:

    • All races will be 5 minutes long.
    • “Bling” (colored nuts/bolts) allowed in all classes.
    • 3D printed parts allowed for style/color without performance improvement.
    • Vehicles can ONLY race in classes originally intended by the manufacturer unless approved.
    • For box stock classes, vehicles need to be assembled per the factory diagram with box stock gearing.
    • Motor cooling fans and corresponding mounts allowed in all classes.
    • All prototype and one-of-a-kind items/modifications must be approved by the race director before competition.

    These rules aim to ensure fair competition and safety while accommodating a variety of hobby-grade mini vehicles on the market.

    18. YOU CAN MOVE BATTERY TO THE LEFT SIDE OF CAR AND LOWER IT TO BE EVEN WITH BOTTOM OF CHASSIS RAIL.

    Madness Sedan Rules

    • Chassis: Open to 1/10 scale touring car chassis.

    • Motor and Speed Controller:
      • Brushed: Madness 17T motor and brushed ESC.
      • Brushless: 25.5 motor with blinky mode ESC.
    • Battery: 2S LiPo, 5000+ mAh.
    • Tires: Open rubber tire.
    • Body: Open.

    This class combines the tuned sedan and 25.5 sedan classes, as both have similar speeds. The brushed setup offers a slight advantage in straight-line speed, while the 25.5 brushless setup is smoother in the infield. The goal of this class is to be more inclusive for new and experienced drivers alike, boosting sedan racer participation and creating a fun and accessible racing experience.

     Losi NASCAR Box Stock Rules for On-Road and Oval

    • Chassis – Unmodified RTR Chassis – No removing of any parts, no hearing or bending of any parts.  Must be assembled per the factory instructions/drawings.  
    • Weight – 945 Grams
    • Electronics – SPMXSE3125RX – SLT RX / 25A Brushed ESC with IC2 Connectors.  Must run the box stock SLT2 Transmitter and  SX110 servo.  
    • Battery – SPMX142S30H2 Spektrum 1400mAh 2S, 7.4V Smart G2 LiPo battery with a maximum voltage of 8.44 volts.  Must be mounted in the stock position
    • Motor – LOS-1907 28-turn 380 brushed RTR motor ONLY with the box stock 19-tooth pinion gear and 59-tooth spur gear.  
    • Tires & Wheels – LOS-1914 or LOS-1937 Tires/Wheels ONLY.  CA type glue may be applied to the sidewalls of the tires.  ONLY SXT 3.0 Traction Compound May Be Used.
    • Body – Losi Camry, Mustang and Camaro Bodies ONLY.  No body trimming.  Custom painted bodies or wraps are allowed and encouraged.  All bodies must be mounted at the factory ride height/location and not lowered. 
    • Misc – Shock oil and diff grease/oil may be changed.  Diffs can’t be locked.  Must run unaltered stock shock springs and shock pistons.  Can use any motor cooling fan that is the same size as the stock fan and is mounted in the box stock location.
    • No Losi/Arrma option parts are allowed other than the LOS-1920 or GROM specific motor heatsinks.
